ABOUT SAVAGE RACING

Savage Racing Team is a drag racing operation based out of Portland, Oregon. Founded by Eugene Purnell, the team centers around a 2011 Mitsubishi Evo X running in the 9-second quarter-mile range—boasting a personal best of 9.776 seconds at 144.76 mph and 809 wheel horsepower.

 

THE BUILD

The Evo X platform is the foundation of everything we do. The 4B11T turbo engine pushes over 800 wheel horsepower through an all-wheel-drive drivetrain built to handle the heavy abuse of drag racing. From the NHRA-spec roll cage and lightweight carbon fiber components to the dry-sump oil system built for hard launches, every part of this car is optimized for straight-line speed. The Savage Racing Evo X stands as one of the quickest Mitsubishi Evos in the Pacific Northwest.

 

THE TEAM

Savage Racing is built on a tight-knit crew of Portland-area mechanics, tuners, and enthusiasts. We are a family that shows up on race day to wrench, tune, and push the limits of the PNW drag racing community.
